John Francis Wilson 1915-1999 PLANO, Texas

John Francis Wilson, 84, Piano, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at a health-care center in Piano.

Mr. Wilson had been employed as an electrician and later as a computer programmer for Pacific Mutual Life Insurance on the West Coast for more than 30 years until retiring as a systems analyst in 1979.

During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps.

Born in Ogden, Utah, on May 26, 1915, he attended school in Los Angeles, and graduated from the Pauls Valley, Okla., High School.

He attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Me Wilson was a former member of the Soaring Society of America.

On April 16, 1943, he married Hazel Browning in New York City. She was a former resident of Mound City, Mo. She died in 1995. Mr. Wilson also was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie; and a brother, Gordon.

Surviving: a daughter, Eleanor Howe, Piano. Graveside service and burial: 2 p.m. Wednesday, New Liberty Cemetery, Mound City, with military rites by members of the American Legion Post No. 164, Mound City Family visitation: one hour prior to the service at the Pettijohn & Crawford Family Funeral Service, Mound City Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3404 Ashland Ave., St. Joseph, Mo., 64506.
