Donald W. Roberts, 71, died Oct 20, 1989

Born 22 July 1918 in Brooklyn, New York City, he was a resident of Ridgewood, NJ for many years.

A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C., he held a masters degree in meteorology from the California Institute of Technology and a master's in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa.

He was a travel consultant with Stratton Travel, Franklin Lakes, and previously was owner of Travel Inc., Ridgewood, and had worked as a systems manager with I.T.T.

Earlier he had served for 25 years in the Air Force, retiring with the rank of Colonel.

Mr. Roberts was a member of the Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club, the Ridgewood Lions Club, and was on the board of the Ridgewood Red Cross.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Gee Roberts; two daughters, Jean R. Kobe of Indianapolis and Kathleen Roberts of Boston, and a sister Doris Maher of Westfield.

A son, David, died in 1972, and a daughter, Susan died in 1966.

Services were held Oct 24th in First Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, with interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass.

Arrangements were by C. C. Van Emburgh Funeral Chapel, Ridgewood.
