His medical admission papers dated 24 Nov 1883-11 Nov 1887 has his birth 1827 Tiffin OH, a farmer and a widow in Springfield OH. According to different record I've found he had lung problems at his mustered out date in 1864.

If you look at some of the records it mentions both wars on the same paper.

I found a grave on findagrave.com #80516124, Edwa'd Y Myers Corpl. 5 Ohio L A on stone no dates, City Cemetery, Shelbyville IN.

I also found census record same location for 1900 and 1910 for Edward Myers born Jun 1825 Ohio father born in VA mother born in Vermont on both. His wife of 7 years is Magdelena in the 1900 census, he is a widow again in the 1910 census his grave plot is beside Magdelene's.

I found a 1880 census record Fairield, Butler, OH. Edward Myers b. 1827 OH father VA mother Vermont, a veteran, wife Maria J "Stewart" [maiden], adopted daughter Adena.

I found death record Edward Myers d. 19 Oct 1916 age 91 Shelbyville, IN
