Hi!

My name is Rebekah Macaluso and Mary Marie Uhler was my great-grandmother. She had four children: Winona Joy, Richard, Eugene, and Patricia Ann. Patricia married Robert H. Hazleton in 1954 and had her first child in 1956. That child was Joy Elizabeth Hazleton, who married Anthony Macaluso in 1986 and became my mother in 1987.

Grandmother Mary was a great grandma. My mom loves to tell the stories of how she got under the picnic table and made mud-pies with my mom and her sisters when they were younger. Mary also had a great sense of humor and loved to crack jokes and play tricks on her family. When I was younger, I was terrified of her because she was always threatening to chew my ears. Once, we went to visit my grandma and Grandmother Mary was there as well. We walked in the front door and Grandmother squinted her brows and crooked her finger at me, beckoning me forward. I stood in the doorway shivering in fright and my 3-year-old sister threw herself in front of me and cried out, "Don't do it, Rebekah! Don't go!" Haha, those were fun times.

One of the last things Grandmother said to her daughter, Patricia, was, "Tell Nancy that I won't be able to make it for the wedding". Nancy is Patricia's fourth daughter and Nancy's oldest child was engaged to be married the following August. Even though Grandmother was close to death, she was still focused on her family and thinking about them at the very end.
