Per my research, **Akin Ingersoll **married Frances Nancy Banks. They had (at least) one son, Martin Van Buren Ingersoll (1842-1887). MVBI married Esther Jane Seward (believed to possibly be related to William Henry Seward, SOS, Lincoln Administration) and they had two or three children (at least). One son was Robert LeRoy Ingersoll (1882-1953), US Army Infantry Officer, WWI in France. RLI married more than once, last one was Isabelle Cecelia Barrett. Their first son, Robert Lee Ingersoll (1925-2003), USAAF, WWII Bombadier, then ARNG (CA) but activated for Korean War (artillery officer, BSM, retired as Colonel, CA ARNG). This RLI (great grandson of AI) married Maryan Kathryn McClelland) and their first born son, Steven Brooks Ingersoll (1951, now dec'd) served in the USAF during the Viet Nam war. RLI & ICBI's second son, George Seward Ingersoll (b. 1927; legally changed name to G Seward Ingersoll c.1967) served in the US Navy at the end of WWII. He married Patricia Bertine Markle. Their first son, Lee Seward Ingersoll (b. 1951), served in the US Army Signal Corps during the Viet Nam war. GSI & PBMI's second son, Mark Barrett Ingersoll (b. 1954), served in the USAF at the end of the Viet Nam War). MBI married Deborah Ann Pickett and their son, Jared Scott Ingersoll (b. 1987), served in the US Army (artillery) in Iraq and is now (2018) a reservist. MBI/20180510
