ohn Sullivan was an American Revolutionary War general and led the scorched-earth Sullivan Expedition through Iroquois territory in New York. After the war, Sullivan served in the Continental Congress, in the New Hampshire state assembly, as governor of New Hampshire, and as a federal judge.
