| ajromeo_1609573 | I'm Domenick John Romeo's nephew Anthony J. Romeo; trying to learn more about my uncles navy time spent on WW2 submarines in the Pacific. I would like to learn what submarine uncle served on, maybe I remember him stating that he was on the USS Cavalla (SS-244) ? I cannot locate any muster sheets identifing that.. Any help would be deeply appreciated..Uncle was injured topside when repairing electrical problems on the deck gun, had ruptured his ear drums and hospitalized and assigned duty on the USS Howard W. Gilmore (AS-16) in Subic Bay PI until the end of the war. Thank you for your assist. - Nephew |
