Kermit was born to George and Lula Dervin. They lived in a farming community.

There were nine boys born to this family. Kermit left home at an early age and came to live with

the Axles. Kermit stayed with Ned Axle and his family for a few years. Kermit's first wife was

named Jessie May. Kermit and Jessie May had no children. Kermit enlisted with the U.S. Army

and served for three years. Near the end of WWII, he married Selma Clay. They became the parents

of a daughter, Cheri. George and Lula, Kermit's parents separated and divorced around 1950.

Kermit sought employment after the end of WWII. He lived in Seattle, Washington. Kermit was always

close by his brother Artie. Homer was the oldest of the Dervin boys and lived in Los Angeles, California.
