1. Reference basic communication, information available this headquarters shows that 2nd Lt. Donald W. Oliphant, O662462 was missing on raid by B-25's of this Group on Sidi Ahmed Airfield, Bizerte, (Tunisia), on 5 December 1942. Apparent cause was anti-aircraft fire from target area. Ship was last seen as it dropped behind hills, approximately 30 miles W. of Sidi Ahmed, along beach between Cape Serat and Cape Negro. A check of interrogation reports of other crews on missions, indicated that none of our personnel eyewitnessed the crash landing.

2. All other Officers and Enlisted Men of this Group who participated in mission of 5 December 1942, are either MIA, or have been rotated to the United States, with possible exception of Major John T. Allen, O659038, who was last known to be a member of the 47th Bomb Wing, APO# 525, USA.

AFTER interviewing Tunisian Officials and Local Villagers, and an extensive and exhaustive search of the beach area, in March 1944; no wreckage nor trace of wreckage was ever found, and the consensus was that the plane had crashed into the Sea.
