John T Mays, 86, a retired Fort Worth dental technician, died Saturday in a Fort Worth nursing home.

Graveside service will be at 1 pm Tuesday at Greenwood MemoriaI Park.

Mays was born in Caldwell and came to Fort Worth with his family in 1907. He was a Navy veteran of World War I and was a member of the Rivercrest Country Club, the Arlington Heights United Methodist Church, and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Posse.

Mays was the founding president of the Dental Laboratory Association of Texas and was a life member of the National Association of Dental Laboratories. In his career, he held 28 patents and 61 copyrights.

Survivors include his wife Willie Mae Mays of Fort Worth; two sons Tom Mays of Fort Worth and David Mays of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter Frances Mount of Vermillion, S.D.; a brother Clyde Mays of California; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be given to a favorite charity.
