Hensley was acquitted of all charges. Despite being found innocent by a jury of his peers, the service pension he had been drawing prior to being charged with perjury by John ELLIS of Hawkins County, was never restored. A review by the national pension office following the verdict believed that he couldn't have served the lengths of time he claimed because service of that length would not have been permitted under the law. He was adjudge not to have served enough time for a pension.
