erbert Hopp of Seattle WA was a turret gunner on a Grumman Avenger TBF torpedo bomber shot down in the late stages of the Battle of Guadalcanal, 4 February, 1943 while successfully attacking a Japanese destroyer. He survived and lived until 1965.
