Woman Suffers Fatal Attack Just as Curtain Is to Arise.

Expires Despite Medical Aid at Once Rushed to Her.

Just as the curtain was about to rise at the first show at the Opera House at 7:15 last night, Mrs. L. E. H. Savage, 64, of Swartswood Lake, N. J., suffered an attack of heart disease and expired before medical aid could reach here.

Mrs. Savage had come to pay visit to her daughter, Mrs. John Worden (Electa Savage Worden) at 121 West Fifteenth Street, to spend the holidays. Yesterday evening she thought she would like to go to the theater so accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law she came down to the Opera House.

She had been seated but a few minutes when she gave a gasp and fell unconscious. Manager Brennan had her taken to his office and summoned Dr. Riha, who lives nearby. When the doctor arrived, the woman was unconscious. Dr. Gessler of the Hospital responded to a phone call and started home with her, but she was dead of acute cardial dilation before arriving. The body was taken to the Worden home where arrangements for the funeral will be made.

Dr. King came to Jersey City this morning and gave a certificate of death from heart failure.

Deceased is survived by three sons, Isaac, Edward and Nathaniel, and five daughters, Mrs. C. Downer, Mrs. F. Knenan (Klemens), Mrs. John Worden, Mrs. H. Worden and Mrs. Clarence Paugh.
