FC Lavender Jonathan served with the 873rd Bomb Squadron which was part of the 498th Bomb Group. Jonathan was among the first wave of munitions workers to arrive on the island of Saipan after the Marines had secured the island. Jonathan was a drafted into the U.S.A.A.F. and served untill 1945 when WWII had ended and received an honorable discharge for his services.
