Alvin Jerome Lageson was born September 25, 1921 in Ellendale, Steele County Minnesota to John I. and Ada Anderson Lageson. They were both born in Minnesota and were Dairy Farmers. Alvin was the oldest and had three brothers Rueben, Gerald and Agnus. He had one sister Idella. His family owned their Dairy farm in Berlin, Steele County, MN. Alvin married Helen M. Holland on February 2, 1942 in Freeborn, MN. They had a daughter born September 13, 1942. Helen remarried and died in 2002.

Lt. Lageson was killed in Action in Germany on March 23, 1944. He was the Navigator on FAME'S FAVOURED FEW. B-17G #42-31888. He served in 92nd Bomber Group, 326 Bomb Squadron. The aircraft was struck by 20mm shells, the aircraft went out of control, exploded into pieces and crashed East of Hamm, Germany on a mission to Munster and Hamm, Germany.

He is buried in the family plot at First Lutheran Cemetery in Ellendale, Steele County, Minnesota.
