Aaron A "Bud" Hughes Jr.

World War II · US Army

United States of America
M

y grandfather and WWII Veteran who's records seem to have been destroyed in the fire of 1973. I have his discharge papers and can see by those that he left on Feb 9, 1944 from NYC to the EAME and arrived in Liverpool on Feb. 18, 1944 aboard the H.M.S. or U.S.S. Andes. I can see that he fought at Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. At the time of his discharge in 1955 he was a M. Sergeant in the 3801st Quartermaster Truck Company and was discharged from the Camp Fannin Separation Camp on Dec. 3, 1945. I have his military ID number but having all of that information, I still can't find out anything about his time in the war or what company he was actually in during his time in Europe. Any help would be so appreciated!
