eorge Frowe of North Chicago, Lake, IL a very quiet uncle. It was a surprise to find out he was a combat engineer in the Pacific. George was in Company D of the 594th Engineer Boat & Shore Regiment. He was listed as a being a Staff Sergeant. He was awarded a Bronze Star. Recorded on board The U.S.S Lindenwald (LSD-6) 31 Dec 1944, later on in March the U.S.S Lindenwald was sailing from Leyte to New Guinea. The December and February destinations were recorded as not allowed to be recorded.
