irth: unknown Death: Jul. 17, 1864 Andersonville (Sumter County) Sumter County Georgia, USA William Broderick was age 19 and a hatter by trade when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 14, 1861, in Boston, Massachusetts, for a term of three years, as a Landsman, to the credit of Boston. He served on the Receiving Ship OHIO, the USS SACRAMENTO, the USS ALABAMA (not to be confused with the famous CSS ALABAMA), and the USS MONTGOMERY.
