ichard H. Babin was born on April 7, 1926. He entered the service on August 30, 1944 into the U.S. Army during World War II. He obtained the rank of Sergeant serving with the Company "F" 15th Infantry as a Mortar NCO of a 60 mm Mortar in the European Theater. His battles include the Rhineland and Central Europe. His medals include the European-African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, the Distinguished Unit Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal - Germany and the Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged on July 7, 1946. His legion record shows 12 years continuous service in the American Legion (McGowan-Johnson, Post No. 68, Paw Paw, MI). Richard passed away March 19, 2003. He is buried at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.
